Police: Body found in South Jackson park

SOUTH JACKSON — A dead body has been found in a bathroom at Malesus Park in South Jackson, according to police. A city employee found the body of an 86-year-old man in a bathroom at the park’s community center, according to Captain Tyreece Miller with the Jackson Police Department. The death is not considered suspicious, Miller said. The man was playing horseshoes with a group and complained that he was not feeling well, Miller said. The man had a history of heart problems, according to Miller. An ambulance was called to the scene about 2:24 p.m. after the man was found unresponsive.
