CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Crockett County’s Senior Center has sent off its finest to the annual Brain Games. The team is heading to Nashville Friday to compete against Middle and East Tennessee. The statewide trivia competition asks questions about subjects such as science, history and arts and entertainment. The Crockett County “Brainiacs” are already the regional champs, beating out teams from Memphis and Southwest Tennessee. The Brainiac team includes Maureen Meeks, Lilly Dixon, Wayne Forsythe and Gladys Porter. As for their strategy, members say they just practice harder than the rest. “I think we just studied a little harder and played a little more often,” team member Maureen Meeks said. “We just try to remember what we study and what we play.” The final prize is a mystery, but they are hoping to add it to the brand-new desktop computer they won during regionals.
