JCM game moved to Liberty Tech

JACKSON, Tenn. – It’s hard to protect home-field advantage when you’re never home. Enter in Jackson Central Merry’s varsity football team. For the second straight week, the Cougars home game has been relocated because of poor field conditions at Lane Field. JCM’s first rescheduled game was last week against Chester County (JCM lost 23-20). The Cougars face the same scenario on Friday against Liberty Tech. This isn’t the first sign of trouble at Lane Field. During Dragons season home opener, the game was delayed a few hours because of heavy rain. The game against Benedict College was eventually played, but not players evidently struggling to get their footing. Lane College has confirmed that the field issues have been addressed, and a contractor re-sodded it on Wednesday. JCM’s next scheduled home game is on October 3 against North Side, while Lane College plays the following day on October 4.
