Bone Appétit event helps Downtown Dogs Group

NORTHEAST JACKSON, Tenn. — Hundreds of West Tennesseans visited the ballpark at Jackson for the second annual Bone Appétit on Sunday. Bone Appétit is a fundraiser for Downtown Dogs Group that is a no-kill rescue. The event highlights of the evening were local artist displays presented by 2014 Bone Appétit official artist and a whiskey tasting. Several local chefs who would normally be each other’s competition worked together Sunday night for the cause. The night’s emcee was celebrity pet expert, Harrison Forbes. “This is a really big event, it’s well put together there’s so much that goes into this and it’s great to see the community come together to create a really cool event that’s something that’s great for everybody,” Forbes said. The Downtown Dog rescue was first established in 2009. Forbes says he encourages everyone to get involved in these non-profits and help find good homes for the dogs.
