Fall Prevention Awareness Day

Work Plus is hosting an event in conjunction with Fall Prevention Awareness Day on Tuesday, September 23, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Work Plus on Vann Drive in Jackson. This day is a federal initiative from the National Council on Aging to recognize what a public health issue falling is. The national theme of Fall Prevention Awareness Day 2014 is “Strong Today, Falls Free Tomorrow.” The event will feature educational seminars, balance screenings, home safety demonstrations, and a pharmacist will be present to discuss how certain medications effect balance. This event is free to the public.
