Horseback riders saddle up for St. Jude Trail Ride

ALAMO, Tenn. — Cowboys and cowgirls in West Tennessee saddled up Thursday for a good cause. Horseback riders participated in the 16th annual Buck Creek St. Jude Trail Ride in Crockett County, a volunteer-based fundraising event. The event is described as a weekend of organized riding, great food, auctions and live entertainment. “It is amazing just how long it’s gone on, and it’s just every year it seems to get bigger and bigger and more people,” supporter Kelly Mayo said. “It’s just so great to be able to get together with our friends and have a great time for a good cause.” Riders raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Money is raised at auctions at the end of the trails. The money goes to the hospital’s fight against childhood cancer and other diseases. Horse enthusiasts hold saddle-up events across the country.
