The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture will host its 17th Annual Heritage Festival on Saturday, October 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ames Plantation. Bring your family out to the plantation where you can learn all about the cultural heritage of West Tennessee. Over 150 folk artists and demonstrators will be at the festival and do some live demonstrations such as blacksmithing, artillery demos, and Civil War reenactments. There will also be many hands-on activities for kids, such as milking goats and picking cotton. The cost is $5 for adults, $2 for kids, and children 3 and under are free. Events will go on as scheduled rain or shine. For more information, contact Ginger Rowsey at (731) 425-4768.
