DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Jackson City Leaders approve a high-tech makeover Tuesday for the city’s website. The city’s current website was developed in 2001. Figures show it has received more than 1.3 million clicks to date, but city leaders believe more business could be handled on the site. Updates will allow residents to pay traffic tickets, taxes and other fees online. The total cost of the makeover is $42,000. “Industry does all their research on the web, so it’s critical we update that and get it available and provide accurate information,” said Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist. The website is expected to be updated by February.
