Wife dies after home shooting. Husband is the accused gunman

JACKSON, Tenn.– Police have identified the victim in Monday night’s shooting. According to the Jackson Police Department.58-year-old Donna Green was pronounced dead in her North Jackson home, Her husband was the accused gunman. “My dad has a hard time seeing anymore. He’s losing his eyesight. It was a freak thing,” said Danny Green, the step son of Donna Green. Danny Green said there’s no way his dad pulled the trigger on purpose. “He thought it was not loaded obviously and it was an automatic. I don’t know what kind of weapon. He pulled the slide back and it slipped out of his fingers,”said Green Danny said his father’s age may have been a factor in the accident. “My dad’s 76-years-old and it was pointed at her he was standing right in front of her,” said Green The son said the couple were together for about 30-years. Investigators said that they do not have reason to believe the shooting was intentional. Police are going over the husbands statements and waiting for the autopsy results. “Based on what we’ve uncovered. We don’t believe the shooting was intentional,” said Captain Tyreece Miller, “and that’s why he hasn’t been charged with any crime.” Meanwhile, family members plan their final goodbyes. “The funeral home is picking her up today or tomorrow. We’re looking at Friday or Saturday for the funeral,” said Green
