MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A former school board member and wife of former Circuit Court Judge Nathan Pride was at the center of a Tuesday chase by Madison County deputies. Linda Pride’s attorney, Mark Donahoe, said she received a citation. “It has something to do with some traffic violation, so, hopefully this is just blown a little out of proportion,” Donahoe said. “It’s not a big deal.” Sheriff John Mehr confirmed Pride ran a red light. He said when a deputy flipped on his blue lights, she did not stop. Mehr said once deputies were able to pull her over, they issued her a citation for running a red light and evading deputies. Donahoe said it is possible Pride did not see them. “If it’s a situation where she says she didn’t see them, didn’t know they were behind her, didn’t know they were trying to stop her, that’s certainly one thing,” he said. Donahoe went on to say he hopes the deputy’s car had a dash camera. The sheriff’s department will not comment yet on whether there is a recording of the incident. “The cameras are very beneficial,” Donahoe said. “They let everybody know what really happened.” Donahoe said by his brief conversation with the Pride family, he thinks Linda hopes the situation is resolved quickly. “Certainly anybody in this situation is upset and bothered by that,” Donahoe said. “Anybody would be, and it’s certainly expected of her.” Pride will be in Madison County General Sessions Court on Tuesday. We reached out to the Prides for comment who then referred us to their attorney.
