South Side confident about their next test

JACKSON, Tenn. – South Side’s volleyball team travels to Covington on Thursday for a sectional showdown. This is the second meeting of the year between the schools. “We are focusing on sub-state. They know us, we know them,” said senior Anna Westover. How the Lady Hawks got to sectionals is the big story. South Side climbed out of a 0-2 hole against Crockett County. “There’s something about this team that makes them so special. When you challenge them, they respond,” said South Side head coach Tommy Dean. Following their victory over the Cavaliers, the Hawks went on to lose to Dyersburg in the Region 7-AA Championship. The Trojans victory gives them a home sectional game against Liberty Tech. Both games are scheduled for 6 p.m.
