HAYWOOD COUNTY — Road improvements soon will be under way as a highway is realigned in Haywood County. State Route 222 will be improved and realigned from the interchange at Interstate 40 to the Muex Corner area south of Stanton, according to a release from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. TDOT on Friday announced the winning $13.8 million low bid by Ford Construction. This is a partnership with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to improve infrastructure at the Memphis Regional Megasite. The deal will take at least 30 days to take action. There is no estimate for when the project will be completed.
