Troopers remind West Tenn. drivers to watch out for deer

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Drivers should be extra careful to keep a lookout for deer on Tennessee roadways this time of year, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. “The fall season is the most active time of year for deer-related crashes,” Col. Tracy Trott said in a release. “We want to remind drivers to watch out for deer on or around the roadways, especially at dawn or after sunset.” There were more than 6,000 deer-related crashes in 2013, according to the release. Last year, two people were killed on Tennessee roadways during this time of year. Deer-related crashes in the state have steadily increased by 15.3 percent since 2009, the release states.
