Police: Pedestrian injured after being hit by vehicle

EAST JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Monday evening in east Jackson. Investigators confirm a person was hit around 6:40 p.m. near the intersection of North Royal Street and Fairmont Avenue. They told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News a woman was hit after she stepped out in front of a car as it was turning at the intersection. Investigators said she was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries, and the incident remains under investigation.
