Crime Stoppers offers $1,000 for help solving home invasion involving elderly woman

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — You could receive the maximum reward for tips that lead to the arrest of the suspects accused of tying an 85-year-old woman up during a home invasion. Lt. Mike Johnson says Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the North Jackson burglary. Last Thursday, police said two slender black men dressed in dark clothing tied up the woman and stole several items including her 2014 Toyota Avalon. Officers hope a higher reward will lead to the suspects’ arrests. “They were waiting on her when she came into the house, they tied her to a chair, they took her car, they assaulted her,” Lt. Johnson said. “It’s just a very violent crime, and because of that, instead of just offering up to the $1,000 we will pay [the maximum reward of] $1,000 to the person that can help us solve this crime.” If you have information, call Jackson police or Crime Stoppers at (731) 424-TIPS (8477).
