Kmart, Sears locations in Jackson not affected by store closings

WEST JACKSON — With many Kmart and Sears stores closing their doors soon — a total of 77 are set to close nationwide — West Tennesseans will not have to worry about a holiday shopping interruption. The closings, which will result in 5,300 job cuts, will not affect the Kmart and Sears locations in Jackson, according to store managers. Most of the affected Sears and Kmart locations across the country will close before the holiday season, with many holding going-out-of-business sales rather than gearing up for seasonal promotions.
