Man accused of returning stolen item for refund appears in court

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man accused of stealing a gazebo at Lowe’s and then returning it for a refund appeared Monday in court. Rodney Crivac is charged with theft of property over $1,000 after police say he took a gazebo from the store’s shelf and then went to the counter for a refund. The incident happened at the Lowe’s on Vann Drive where surveillance video shows a man believed to be Crivac taking the item, getting the refund and then leaving the store, according to court papers. The man was refunded $1,137. Crivac remains in jail in lieu of $40,000 bond.
