Survey says Tenn. ranks among least politically active states

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A new study shows shockingly low turnout numbers for Tennessee voters. The Volunteer State is the sixth least-politically involved state in the country, according to a report by WalletHub. The website analyzed voter statistics including registered voter numbers from the 2012 presidential election and the 2010 midterm elections. Tennessee ranked second to last in turnout in those elections behind only Texas in the number of people who cast a ballot. In the most recent presidential election, Tennessee ranked 46th overall. Massachusetts ranked No. 1 in the survey.
