MADISON COUNTY — With election day hitting Tuesday across the nation, experts are encouraging citizens to prepare for their voting day strategy. Madison county polls will be open Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. A valid photo ID, whether from a drivers license, handgun permit, passport or other official document, must be shown at the center to vote. You do not have to have your voter’s registration card to vote, but if you have one, you are encouraged to bring it. “Every voter has an assigned voting place in this county,” said Kim Buckley, administrator of elections for Madison County. “That place is not 311 North Parkway, the early voting site. You have a place that’s on your voter registration card, and that’s where you need to go vote.” There are 33 different polling places in Madison County, but a registered voter who did not vote early can only vote at the polling place listed on their registration card. If you do not have your card, you can locate your polling place by checking madisonelections.com or by calling the polling office at 731-660-1796. You can also visit the Seen on 7 section of our website for a link to the state election commission’s voter information search engine. As a reminder from election officials, you cannot vote Tuesday at the election commission office on North Parkway.
