Officials to hold “Refuse to be a Victim” meeting

JACKSON, Tenn.- The holiday season is near and local emergency officials want to make sure you and your home are safe. The National Rifle Association is set to host a “Refuse to be a Victim” meeting. They will be talking about how to protect yourself and your home through the end of the year, among other things. Officials said the program does not have anything to do with guns, but is about having a plan to minimize your chances of being a victim to crime. ” These are the things that we want to make sure they spread out there to make it better so that our neighborhoods are better, our city and our county is better, our state is better and we got away from all the crime,” said Marty Clements, director of the Jackson-Madison County EMA. The “Refuse to be a Victim” meeting will be this Thursday night at the Emergency Operations Center at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport and starts at 6:30.
