Jackson man accused of assaulting girlfriend, preventing her from escaping

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man Jackson police have accused of assaulting his live-in girlfriend and preventing her from escaping was in court Tuesday. Police said Tyondra Taylor assaulted his girlfriend last week, throwing a knife at her and dragging her back into the house when she tried to escape by jumping out a bedroom window. Taylor struck the woman multiple times in the head causing her left eye to swell and bruise, according to court documents. The victim said Taylor pointed a knife at her and told her he was “going to stab her in the neck and watch her bleed out,” according to the papers. Taylor is being held on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to return to court at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 13 for a preliminary hearing.
