NORTH JACKSON — Local first responders are working with representatives from agencies across the state this week for the Tennessee Emergency Preparedness Summit being held at Union University. Emergency management directors, highway patrol troopers and Homeland Security personnel met Wednesday at the summit to swap life-saving ideas. Participants also discussed trends and technology to improve response times and help troopers investigate crash scenes with better accuracy. “We’re just hoping that everybody comes out with a good general knowledge of what’s going on, what’s new and developing in the fields,” said Wayne Arnold with the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department. The annual event continues through Thursday.
