Jackson Downtown Development Corp. announces new director

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The Jackson Downtown Development Corporation announced on Friday the appointment of a new executive director. Board president Bobby Arnold and the board of directors announced the appointment of Matt Altobell, who assumed the role Nov. 3, according to a release. Altobell brings more than 10 years of organizational management and leadership experience to the organization, according to the release. He is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Jackson and has served in various volunteer roles for several local nonprofit organizations. A native of Columbia, Tenn., Altobell came to Jackson in the fall of 2003 to attend Lambuth University where he majored in communications, the release states. Since attending Lambuth he has made Jackson his home. “I am thrilled to be working with JDDC,” Altobell says in the statement. “This is a very unique and exciting time for Downtown Jackson, and the opportunity to serve in this capacity at this time is a tremendous honor.” JDDC is a nonprofit organization that serves to promote, market and develop downtown Jackson and works closely with the City of Jackson, Madison County, the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and numerous other partners, according to the release. The organization is managed by a 13-member board of directors, which is currently led by Bobby Arnold, President/CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare.
