Man attempts, fails to steal elderly woman’s purse in West Jackson

WEST JACKSON — Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to steal an elderly woman’s purse from her hands on Hollywood Drive. The incident happened near the Rodeway Inn where the man attempted to grab the woman’s purse, according to court documents. Police believe a scuffle took place between the two, and the man escaped without taking the purse. He is described as a black man with a medium complexion, around 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 lbs.
