JACKSON, Tenn. — A homeowner is trying to understand why a gunman fired eight shots toward her home with at least four of them piercing through her walls. “You come in and look at the holes in the wall, and the only thing you can do is cry,” the homeowner said. The homeowner did not want to be identified, but bullet holes remain inside the home where she and her brother live. Residents say at least eight shots were fired outside a home Saturday night on East Baltimore Street in Jackson. Bullets hit a vehicle in the front yard and went through the room where the homeowner said her family members often stay. “I could’ve had my grandkids here,” the homeowner said. “My niece stays nights sometimes on weekends, and shots tipped the top of her bed. It could’ve kiled them.” The homeowner said she does not understand why the person chose to shoot into her home, but she has a message for the gunman. “Whoever they’re after, they don’t stay here,” the homeowner said. “They don’t stay here. That’s all I can say.” The Jackson Police Department is still searching for suspects in the shooting. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (731) 424-TIPS (8477).
