Construction causes traffic detours in North Jackson

NORTH JACKSON — As of Wednesday, drivers are encouraged to avoid all lanes of Carriage House Drive west of North Highland Avenue to Wallace Road. The detour is due to construction on the city’s efforts to replace storm drain pipes along the road. Work on the project is expected to last through next Wednesday. Weather permitting, all through traffic is asked to heed traffic control signals and barriers and use any available detours. “It was really frustrating,” said Margaret Day, and member at Gold’s Gym. “First I had to turn all the way down there and then pull up here into Wallace, and you can’t really tell over here that the road goes through to actually get into Gold’s.” Residents are reminded all businesses along Carriage House Drive will remain open during the repairs.
