Gun season for deer kicks off this weekend

JACKSON, Tenn. — For West Tennessee hunters, Saturday kicks off the long-awaited gun season for deer. As usual, gun season begins the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The season runs through Jan. 4. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, hunters may harvest one antlered buck a day until the statewide bag limit of three is reached. An antlered buck is one with an antler at least three inches long, according to the TWRA.
