Carriage House Drive re-opens as construction is finished

NORTH JACKSON — Planned construction ended Tuesday on a busy north Jackson street. The Carriage House Drive renovation project, designed to replace many of the storm drain pipes along the road, began last Thursday. All through lanes on the road were previously shut down while detours were provided for passing drivers. The lanes were closed on the North Highland side while repairs to a nearly $400,000 project were made. Jackson city engineer Scott Chandler has said up to 12,000 drivers use Carriage House Drive every day. Chandler said drivers were patient with the detours, “I’m very appreciative that they’ve been patient with us I know it’s been frustrating right here at the holidays, but we’re happy to have it open so that traffic will be able to flow through the holidays.” Chandler said the project isn’t finished, but the completion won’t effect drivers. Workers will still be cleaning up on the side of the roadway.
