HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — An investigator with the Humboldt Police Department was assaulted by a suspect he was trying to arrest Tuesday afternoon, according to the department. Investigators said the department, along with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force, approached an apartment on Vance St. to make contact with the tenant. As investigators attempted to make contact with the tenant, they said multiple subjects ran out of the back door where a Humboldt investigator attempted to take one of them, Adrian Donald, 26, into custody. The investigator was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He has since been released according to investigators. Upon executing a search warrant on the apartment, investigators said they found marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside. Donald has been charged with misdemeanor drug charges along with resisting arrest, evading arrest & assault on a police officer, according to investigators. A second person was also taken into custody at the scene but they were later released with no charges, according to officers. Donald’s bond is set at $25,000.
