Attempted robbery ends with shots fired in west Jackson

WEST JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson police have one person in custody after an attempted Monday night robbery in west Jackson. According to police, around 9:30 p.m. a man tried to rob another man who was leaving a gas station on Airways Boulevard. Investigators say the man fired one shot into air and then ran off. Officers say they were able to catch up with him on Hatton Street minutes later and take him into custody. They also say they searched the area and recovered a gun in the woods.
