DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The Jackson City Council on Tuesday approved an ordinance to barricade and close Cedar Street to through traffic. Council members voted six to one in support of the proposal. Those opposing the ordinance say the closure could hinder emergency vehicles. Removable barricades will be positioned at the entrance of the road to allow any emergency traffic through if necessary.
