Woman accused of lamp attack appears in Jackson court

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A woman was in court Tuesday on accusations of attacking another woman with a lamp. Police say Janie Jefferis was in a house on Elizabeth Street when she hit the victim in the forehead with a lamp, causing her to bleed. Jefferis is charged with aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $5,000.
