BREAKING: Officers on scene of Madison Co. Courthouse

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Jackson police officers confirm there was a situation at the Madison County Courthouse in downtown Jackson in which multiple people were injured. The initial call for help went out around 11 p.m. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation. A police officer confirmed everyone inside the jail has been accounted for. Police also said there was someone on the roof at one time but would not confirm if it was an inmate. At least two ambulances have been seen leaving the scene. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News crews also saw one person in an inmate jumpsuit being taken into custody. North Highland Avenue at East Baltimore Street was shut down for about an hour during the incident.
