Two teens killed in Benton Co. crash

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — Two teenagers have died after a head-on collision Wednesday afternoon in Benton County. A juvenile male driver, 17, and his one passenger, Jennifer Morgan, 18, were killed in the two-vehicle accident that occurred around 5 p.m., according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report. The passenger died on scene, and the driver was taken by medical helicopter to a Nashville hospital but died on the way, according to the sheriff’s office. The 53-year-old man driving the other vehicle was injured in the wreck and also was airlifted from the scene. The pickup truck driven by the juvenile was traveling southbound on Highway 641 when it crossed the center line and struck the other pickup head-on, according to the report. All three people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
