Man accused of tearing down ex-girlfriend’s Christmas lights appears in court

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man appeared before a Jackson judge Monday on accusations of tearing down his ex-girlfriend’s Christmas lights. A woman told police Dec. 12 her ex-boyfriend, Marcus Terrell Folks, had sent her a text message stating “If he could not have her, he was going to tear all her stuff up,” according to court documents. The woman said she saw Folks leaving her shed with the knobs from her dryer and Christmas lights from her house, according to the documents. Folks also cut the remaining Christmas lights from around the woman’s house, documents state. Folks is charged with burglary and vandalism, according to an affidavit. He bond is set at $10,000.
