JACKSON, Tenn. – Lane College’s new athletic director and head football coach is no stranger to the Dragons family. The new man in charge is former football head coach Derrick Burroughs. After serving as defensive coordinator at Jackson State in Mississippi last year, Burroughs returns to Jackson for second stint. “It really makes you feel goo to be somewhere you’re wanted,” said Burroughs. One of the reasons for Burroughs departure last season was the lack of support by administration. The newly hired AD believes that he and President Dr. Logan Hampton share a similar vision for Lane athletics. “I sat down with Dr. Hampton and he shared the same sentiments about upgrading the football and athletic program.”
