Officers swarm south Madison Co. neighborhood, man in custody

PINSON, Tenn.-A scare in south Madison County late Thursday afternoon as SWAT officers and deputies swarm a neighborhood in Pinson. Sheriff John Mehr said deputies were first asked to do a welfare check on a man who was threatening to hurt himself and believed to be armed. Officers did not find him at his home, but eventually caught up with him in some woods near Cedarfield Road and Stone Road. Deputies were able to disarm him and take him into custody. The sheriff said he has been taken to Pathways for observation. His name has not been released because no charges have been filed at this time.
