JFD: Fire reported at UGN plant in east Jackson

EAST JACKSON — Jackson firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at the UGN plant off Dr. F.E. Wright Drive in east Jackson around 9 p.m., Monday. Firefighters said they received a call of smoke coming from the roof of the manufacturing facility. Firefighters on the scene told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News a piece of machinery inside the plant caught fire, causing lots of smoke. All of the employees inside were evacuated and no injuries were reported. The fire department reported the fire was brought under control at 9:25 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
