JACKSON, Tenn. — On the heels of the Vanderbilt rape trial, administrators from about 80 public and private colleges across Tennessee met just three miles away from the courtroom about sexual assault on college campuses. Experts say the case has created a sense of urgency. “If we have students or employees that are walking on campus and witness something, it creates a sense of urgency for them to act as well,” said Amy West, who works in human resources at Jackson State Community College. About 450 people attended the two-day meeting on the campus of Tennessee State University.
