Jackson Kindergartner gets statewide fire prevention recognition

SOUTH JACKSON — A Jackson Kindergartner is recognized by firefighters Wednesday for her work, which was chosen as the best in the state in promoting fire prevention. Olivia Bynum, a student at Malesus Elementary School received an award from the Jackson Fire Department for drawing a fire prevention picture that was chosen as the best Kindergarten picture in Tennessee. “It’s very, very cool, and I think I feel very proud of it,” contest winner Olivia Bynum said. Fire officials say the statewide contest was created to help alert children of all ages about the ways they can prevent fires.
