Jackson man faces judge after allegedly shoving police officer

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man was in court Tuesday for reportedly shoving a police officer. Court papers say when officers responded to a scene Monday night, Terry Cheairs became uncontrollable. Cheairs was said to have been removed from the scene but then returned to the house, allegedly shoving an officer and then trying to leave on foot. Charged with simple assault on an officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, Cheairs is now Free on $10,000 bond.
