Brownsville arts center planning for new theater

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — A performing arts center in Brownsville recently received $2,500 from the city for theater equipment, according to officials. Officials with the Ann Marks Performing Arts Center said they have just received more than $2,000 to purchase brand new theater projection equipment for the center. They said it is the first step in a $15,000 project. “Having something like this, we can show movies, we can have wonderful programs to where people have something to do that’s healthy,” drama teacher Allyson Byrum said. Officials said Monday the Haywood County board will decide an additional $2,500 will be given to the project, which is expected to be completed in six to 12 months.
