RAMER, Tenn. — There is a haunted railroad that runs through Ramer, in McNairy County and it comes alive on Friday the 13th. Everything from chainsaws, zombies, and a creepy clown gives those ready for a scare a tour they won’t forget. The old garment factory sits by an old train depot that has been transformed into a haunted adventure. “I’ve been excited for a couple weeks about this. We’re ready to go through it,” Milton Wallis said. One of the masterminds behind the maze is Dr. Brian Jackson, who gets into character to become the conductor. “I’m your conductor tonight. I’ll guide you into the attraction. The attraction is self-guided once you get inside,” Jackson said. The ‘chair-screamer’, chainsaws, and a lot of blood come with some premeditated preparation. “I started early this morning and it just takes a lot to prepare and get this together,” co-creator Chris Sweeney explained. Williams said what makes the attraction special is its location. “We’re where a depot used to be and in the building we’re actually hosting the haunted house, it was built in 1906. A lot of history is here,” Sweeney said. The haunted house is a boost for the city of Ramer. “City officials were really excited that something was gonna be bringing more people into Ramer tonight,” Jackson said. ‘Derailed’ is open for one more night for its special Valentine’s attraction. Admission is $15, and is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The haunted house is located at 4385 Highway 57 in Ramer.
