MILAN, Tenn. — Licenses, purses and personal information allegedly have been stolen from victims from South Carolina to West Tennessee. Milan police believe Danielle Thompson and Jamar Hanchell are responsible. “They were actually trying to cash some stolen checks from Nashville here in Milan from one of the local banks,” Lt. Chris Vandiver said. Vandiver suspects the two broke into two cars just days before their arrest for forged checks. Vandiver said they seemed to know what they were doing. “She admitted she was attempting to make herself look like whatever driver licenses she was using,” Vandiver said. One surveillance image shows Thomas wearing a wig. Officers said several other wigs were recovered when they were arrested. Investigators said the pair worked in tandem, smashing car windows in several states, grabbing personal items and then trying to access the victims’ bank accounts. “The male subject in the backseat of the car would actually give her instructions on what to say and what lane to pull into, I guess to make her feel more comfortable for when she pulled up to the drive-thru window,” Vandiver said Police said Thompson and Hanchell both have been charged with multiple counts including several burglary and theft charges.
