JACKSON, Tenn. – Lane College’s head women‘s basketball coach Stacey Buchannon resigned from her position on Wednesday. The four-year head coach led the Lady Dragons to a 5-20 record this season. Lane’s season ended on Monday with 73-60 loss to Claflin University in the first round of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament. “I sincerely thank Coach Buchanan for her years of service to Lane College and for the guidance that she provided to her student-athletes, of which many have been honored as SIAC conference superlatives during her tenure,” said Hampton. “I further wish her well in her future endeavors, and pray that the Lord‘s bountiful blessings will accompany her.” We spoke to Buchannon over the phone on Wednesday, but she didn’t have a comment. The school will appoint a team of administrators to conduct a nationwide search for her replacement before the beginning of the 2015-‘16 season.
