BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – Lane’s men’s basketball team defeated Claflin University 62-59 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference quarterfinals. Senior Donald Stewart finished with a game-high 30 points, and teammate Terrance Bridgeman contributed 14. In the Gulf South Conference, Union’s women’s basketball team cruised past the University of West Georgia 81-50 on Friday afternoon. Senior Amy Philamlee moved into seventh place on the Union all-time scoring list with a game-high 27 points. The Lady Bulldogs face the winner of Delta State and Shorter in the GSC Championship.
