Police make arrest in alleged 2014 robbery

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man was officially charged Friday in an alleged robbery reported in May of last year. Solomon Robinson faces an aggravated robbery charge along with two counts of endangerment with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident, according to an affidavit. On May 14, 2014, and man reported he and a friend gave a ride to an acquaintance. The driver told police that at the intersection of Glass and Berry streets, the man pulled two handguns, pointed them at him and started making demands. One shot was fired, which exited the driver’s side rear door, the document states. The driver fled on foot, and the passenger told police the alleged gunman took a bag of clothes from the trunk before running away, according to the affidavit. Court documents state the items taken were valued at more than $3,000. Robinson was developed as a suspect, and the driver identified him from a photo lineup, according to police. Robinson is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
