Woman arrested after needles, pills found during Parsons traffic stop

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman is facing drug charges after a Saturday traffic stop in Parsons leads deputies to several needles and other drug paraphernalia, according to a Decatur County Sheriff’s Office report. Shandel Lee Rister of Lexington is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a search of the car she was driving. A deputy stopped the car on Wheat Street after seeing it cross over into oncoming traffic three times, according to the report. A passenger whose mother owned the car gave consent for the search, and deputies found six syringes, one of which was filled with what Rister said was either oxycodone or morphine, the report states. The search also revealed an oxycodone pill, an alprazolam pill, two spoons with residue, a tourniquet, an unmarked pill bottle with liquid inside, medical scissors, rolling papers and alcohol swabs, according to the report. Rister was arrested and taken to the Decatur County Jail, and the car was placed in the sheriff’s department impound lot to be seized.
