HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The teenage girl reportedly kidnapped Sunday in Humboldt had left the area voluntarily to be taken to her mother, according to a report from the Bulloch County, Ga., Sheriff’s Office. The 15-year-old girl, her mother and grandmother reported to the sheriff’s office Monday evening to explain the situation to authorities, according to the report. An endangered child alert was issued Monday for the teen after she reportedly was kidnapped in Humboldt by her father’s girlfriend. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported later Monday that she had been located in Georgia and was safe. Bulloch County deputies called the Humboldt Police Department and told them the teen was in the custody of her and the girl’s mother, the report states. The grandmother also told deputies she had contacted the girl’s father and that he had agreed for the girl to stay with either her or the girl’s mother, according to the report.
