JACKSON, Tenn. — An important lottery date for Jackson students to get into their preferred school has been rescheduled. The lottery date for high school open enrollment and for Madison Academic has been moved to next Tuesday, March 17. On that day, a computer will randomly select the students that will be accepted into the schools and those that will go on the waiting list. WBBJ spoke to school officials Monday about how the process changes once students are selected. “Parents will receive letters in the mail this week inviting them to attend that process and letting them know what the status of their application is at this time,” said Kimberly Butler, community engagement coordinator for the Jackson-Madison County School System. Parents of accepted students or of students put on the waiting list will have to send those letters back in to accept.
